Floods shut Cape park

Severe weather conditions have affected the Western Cape, resulting in flooding across key parks in the Cape region and causing infrastructure damage as well as temporary closures at several SANParks-managed parks.

Bontebok National Park near Swellendam, known for its role in conserving the rare bontebok antelope, is closed following severe flooding along the Breede River. Several hiking trails have been affected and chalets at Lang Elsie’s Kraal Rest Camp are reportedly flooded.
