Governors’ Camp in Kenya’s Maasai Mara has rebranded its children’s safari programme as the Governors’ Cub Club with greater focus on conservation, culture and hands-on learning for young guests.
Led by experienced guides and supported by the camp’s dedicated team, the programme complements Governors’ Camp’s family tents.
The programme is also an introduction to wildlife, conservation and Maasai culture through activities. Children learn about ecosystems and identify animal tracks, sounds and bird species with an opportunity to plant indigenous trees in the camp’s reforestation zone.
Cultural experiences include informal talks by a Maasai staff member offering a deeper understanding of the natural world and Maasai Mara communities.
Other activities in the Governors’ Cub Club include pizza-making and target practice using handmade wooden bows and arrows.
