Derek Houston has just announced his pre- and post-ITB ‘Spotlight on Africa and the Indian Ocean’ programme for this year, which will cover The Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland.
In conjunction with Anneli Bronkhorst from wwtourism in The Netherlands, Houston has organised Spotlight roadshows in the Netherlands for the past seven years, making the events a ‘must attend’ function for Dutch tour operators who sell African and Indian Ocean island destinations. This year’s event will take place in Amsterdam on March 4 at the Marriott Amsterdam. The timing has been carefully chosen to allow participants to attend Spotlight Amsterdam when making their way to ITB Berlin which starts on March 6.
This will be followed, after ITB, by Spotlight Central Europe, taking place in Prague on March 12; Budapest on March 13; and Warsaw on March 14. Houston Travel Marketing Services has teamed up with Paddington Tucker of Travel Advance, based in Prague, to jointly run these workshops.
“We have had an outstanding reaction from these three key emerging markets for Africa,” says Houston. “In March 2012 we had 74 attendees in Prague; 93 in Warsaw, including 20 incentive travel specialists; and 60 attendees in Budapest in 2011.”
