Kafue camp reopens under new ownership

Mawimbi Bush Camp, in Zambia’s Kafue National Park, will reopen on September 1 following an extensive refurbishment under new ownership.

The camp features four tented suites and a main lodge area set on the western bank of the Kafue River. Each suite features a private deck with a plunge pool and hot tub along with an indoor bathroom and outdoor shower.

Unlike many other lodges in the region, the camp will open year-round, giving guests the option of experiencing either the May to October dry season or the November to April green season.

Rates include twice-daily activities such as game drives, river trips and walking safaris. The lodge will also feature a wetland bird hide and a sleep-out experience.

The oldest and largest of Zambia’s national parks, Kafue covers an area of over 22 400 square kilometres and is home to over 150 mammal and 500 bird species.
