Encounter Mara, in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy in Kenya, joined the Asilia Africa group on May 1.

The Mara Naboisho Conservancy, situated in Kenya, offers a unique game watching experience and allows guests to enjoy exclusivity while in the Serengeti and Maasai reserves.

Encounter Mara is a permanent camp with 10 tents each comprising en-suite bathrooms, traditional bush showers and flushing toilets. Each tent has a private verandahs and a main lounge area overlooking a salt lick, which attracts a variety of animals throughout the day. For families there are two tents that can fit a third bed. Guests can enjoy game drives, night drives, bush walks and experiences with the local communities.

The Mara Naboisho Conservancy is where the great Loita Migration occurs, seeing over 6 000 wildebeest and zebra migrate.  Other animals such as elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah and the rare stripped hyena can also be found in the area.

Asilia Africa portfolio includes: Mara Bush Houses and Rekero Camp in Kenya, Savari Camp and Rubondo Island Camp in Tanzania and Matemwe Lodge, Retreat and Beach House in Zanzibar.
