Marble to open first hotel in Sandton

Marble Hospitality will introduce a new five-star hotel and two food-and-beverage outlets within the Olympus Sandton development – adding a major hospitality component to the mixed-use project by Tricolt Group and Growthpoint Properties.

Marble Hospitality currently operates upmarket dining brands in South Africa including Marble in Rosebank, Saint in Sandton and the Pantry by Market speciality convenience stores.

The 32-room hotel will occupy two full floors beneath the penthouses in Tower 2 (Apollo). Gary Kyriacou, Marble Hospitality Founder and Partner, said: “This new hotel represents our vision to redefine luxury accommodation in South Africa. We are bringing the same attention to detail, creativity and experiential approach that we have brought to our food and beverage and entertainment offerings. The hotel represents the next evolution of the Marble brand, building on our established reputation for luxury dining in Johannesburg and Cape Town.”

Marble Hospitality will manage the hotel and retains full ownership of the hotel brand.

The hotel will sit alongside two further Marble-operated facilities in the development: the Marble Restaurant on the 18th floor, offering 360-degree views of Sandton, and the Pantry by Marble on the ground floor. A breakfast and lunchtime offering will also be added at podium level.

The Olympus development comprises two residential towers and premium retail and dining spaces. Construction began in November 2025 with completion targeted for the end of 2027. The hotel will open when the building is complete around mid-2028.
