Kruger update: Most camps reopened

All facilities and most camps in the Kruger National Park (KNP) are once again open, SANParks has announced. The Wolhuter and Boesman trail camps are still closed.

Acting Head of Communications, Reynold Thakhuli, said all facilities that had been closed were now operational. “All the bush camps, walking trails, picnic spots and gravel roads are deemed safe enough to be used by our clients. We are happy to be able to welcome them back,” said Thakhuli.

The roads have also been reopened, with the exception of the S64 road from Punda Maria to Thulamela in the north of the park.

The reopened bush camps are Talamati, Biyamiti, Sirheni, Shimuwini, Balule and Bateleur. The reopened trail camps are Olifants and Nyalalaland.

All gravel roads in the KNP have been deemed safe and have also been reopened. All the clients who had cancellations need to reconfirm with our Reservations department on reservations@sanparks.org or 012 428 9111.

Earlier this week, SANParks said the Wolhuter and Boesman trails camps be closed until Saturday, March 29.
