Durban North Beach is closed to visitors following large swells which hit the area on Sunday.
The swells damaged some of the shark safety equipment, including shark nets. Diving and swimming have been banned as a result. Depending on when the swells next occur, the nets will be repaired and the beach will be reopened.
A number of areas along the promenade also experienced flooding during the swells.
