Lawson’s Birding and Wildlife Tours has launched its 2014 range of set-departures.
The offerings include a 25-day endemics trip in South Africa, a ‘Best of KwaZulu-Natal’ birding trip followed directly by an Escarpment and Kruger National Park trip, Birds and Wild Flowers of the Cape, and birding trips further afield in Namibia, Zambia and Uganda.
On the wildlife side, it has a dedicated ‘predators’ photographic safari in the Greater Kruger region, a wildlife of Namibia trip, as well as a ‘Cape and Kruger’ wildlife safari.
Lawson’s Leon Marais said the tours could generally accommodate up to 12 participants, though some were restricted to six, depending on the destination and type of tour.
He said accommodation was generally mid-range standard, mostly guest houses, lodges, and National Park camps.
“Our birding tours are for the keen birder and, indeed, some of them, like our 25-day South African endemics tour, are for the serious birder, but we still take in other forms of wildlife,” he said. “Our wildlife tours are designed with the keen wildlife enthusiast in mind, the kind of tourist who enjoys all forms of wildlife and is not necessarily fixated on the Big Five. All tours are customisable,” continued Marais.
