Mantis adds two properties to its portfolio

Founders Lodge sleeps a maximum of 12 guests and can be booked on an exclusive use basis.

The Mantis Collection has expanded its portfolio with the addition of two new properties: Founders Lodge and the Windermere Hotel, both in the Eastern Cape.

Mantis Founder and Chairman, Adrian Gardiner, is commercialising his private residence situated adjacent to the Shamwari Game Reserve, also founded by Gardiner, but sold in 2008. The 1940s farmhouse – used by the family for 20 years – has undergone an extensive renovation to become a lodge for guests who wish to adventure through this part of the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

Founders Lodge is on a 400-hectare reserve and offers direct access to the Big 5 Shamwari Game Reserve. It offers six suites, each with its own veranda, and sleeps 12 guests in total. Other features include a lounge with bar and fireplace, library, gym, dining room and two swimming pools. The property can be booked for exclusive use, in which case children under 12 can be accommodated.

Windermere by Mantis is a 10-room luxury boutique hotel on the popular beachfront suburb of Humewood, Port Elizabeth.
