THE Mauritian Food Festival is to be held at Dieu Donne Restaurant in Franschhoek, Western Cape, on March 27 and 28.
A first in the Franschhoek area, the festival will introduce guests to Mauritian cuisine. They will receive cocktails on arrival and a dinner of Mauritian poached salmon with prawns and palm hearts followed by a Mauritian buffet.
With the assistance of the Mauritian Embassy, two chefs from Naïade Resorts in Mauritius will be at the festival as well as a Sega dancing group.
“The chefs use spices to create culinary magic, making meals healthier and lighter in the process,” says Dieu Donne’s Jo Van Staaden.
