March Restaurant at the African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel reopened on February 1 after undergoing a two-month revamp.
Danny Bryer, Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue for the Protea Hospitality Group, said the restaurant was modern, luxurious and in keeping with the hotel’s high brand standard.
Bryer said the space hosted five, themed private dining rooms. “There’s so much more demand for it – especially working breakfast meetings that are, to a large extent, replacing the after-work drinks networking meeting.”
Other changes include additional seating in the extended lobby area and enhancement of the visual lighting effects in the glass floor.
“Essentially, we’ve kept the best of the old and combined it with a new designer edginess that we believe will make the hotel an even more desirable destination for locals and travellers,” continued Bryer.
Executive Chef, Hanroe Erasmus, said the new menu was an African take on the global slow food trend. Menu items include a slow-braised guinea fowl and cherry pie and lamb shin waterblommetjie bredie.
