Cottar’s Safaris will launch Tracks for Tomorrow in October 2025, a new privately guided conservation experience for teenagers. The five-day programme will be hosted at Cottar’s 1920s Camp in the Olderkesi Conservancy, Maasai Mara, inspired by the UK’s new natural history GCSE curriculum.
The experience will be led by Doug Nagi, a Gold-level Guide, Ethnobotanist, Astronomer and Conservation Expert. Activities will focus on biodiversity, sustainability and cultural heritage.
Louise Cottar, Co-Owner of Cottar’s Safaris, said: “In the spirit of David Attenborough’s words, ‘No one will protect what they don’t care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced’, Tracks for Tomorrow gives children the chance to connect meaningfully with nature in ways that are unforgettable, educational and fun.”
The curriculum-linked activities include:
- Conservation sessions with Mara-based experts, covering cheetahs or raptors
- Reforestation through seedball planting
- Wild foraging with local specialists
- Biodiversity workshops examining ecosystems and human impact
- Cultural learning through a Maasai warrior school
- Night safaris, bush walks and stargazing
- Talks with conservationists on wildlife protection and anti-poaching
- Daily reflection sessions on sustainability
- Practical “sustainability challenges” encouraging eco-friendly thinking
The programme concludes with a certificate of completion.
