Mokala National Park in the Northern Cape has added another property and now covers over 27 500 hectares.
The addition of Kameeldoorns is part of the park’s expansion plan and will help realise SANParks’ conservation objectives.
“Since 2000, SANParks has added some 558 897 hectares to our system of national parks,” said CEO, David Mabunda. “We are very excited about the dropping of this fence as it signifies the seriousness with regard to our mandate of increasing national conservation.”
Mokala National Park is home to game species including eland, giraffe, roan sable, buffalo, gemsbok, red hartebeest and tsessebe.
