Morukuru to reopen sole-use Madikwe properties

Morukuru Family will reopen two of its exclusive-use properties in the North West province’s Madikwe Game Reserve on September 1. Morukuru Owner’s House and Morukuru River House have both been closed since February due to extensive flood damage caused by the overflowing of the Marico River.

In a press statement, the company said renovation of both properties’ interiors will be completed during the temporary closure.

“In line with our commitment to timeless design, comfort and a deep sense of place, Morukuru Family has partnered with acclaimed interior designer Amy Kidger of Hinterland Studio to lead the refurbishment. Kidger brings a wealth of experience in high-end lodge design with a signature style that merges refined elegance with natural textures and a contemporary African aesthetic,” said Anka Zeeman, Co-Owner of Morukuru Family.

Originally designed by the owners as a private retreat, Morukuru Owner’s House sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms and can be booked together with the neighbouring Morukuru River House.

Morukuru River House sleeps up to six adults in three bedrooms. Four children under the age of 16 can be accommodated in the family room. Both properties are equipped with fireplaces, indoor and outdoor showers, heated swimming pools, outdoor baths and spacious indoor and outdoor dining and living areas.

Morukuru’s Madikwe portfolio also includes the exclusive-use, five-bedroomed Morukuru Farm House, which was not affected by the flooding.

The all-inclusive rates at the properties include a private guide and chef, the use of a private game drive vehicle and a nanny service.
