Namibia flyafrica has launched operations between Namibia and Johannesburg. The airline was grounded earlier this month following a ruling by the Namibian High Court that the carrier could not operate to or from OR Tambo.

The airline has moved operations from OR Tambo International Airport to Lanseria International Airport, “allowing flyafrica to further reduce its fares by over R500”, the airline said in a statement.
To avoid disruption to passengers, Namibia flyafrica is offering a bus transfer service from Sandton. Passengers will be able to board a bus at the Sandton Gautrain station to Lanseria.
“The change of airport in Johannesburg to Lanseria allows us to further reduce our costs, making our fares over 80% less than our competitors with no disruption to our passengers,” says Clifford Strydom, CEO of Namibia flyafrica.
Namibia flyafrica initially operates three weekly flights between Windhoek and Lanseria on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with the airline committing to daily flights before November. Flights depart Lanseria at 08h30 and arrive in Windhoek at 10h25. Return flights depart Windhoek at 10h55 and arrive back at Lanseria at 12h50.
