New horse safaris launched at iSimangaliso Wetland Park

Hluhluwe Horse Safaris is the sole operator for horse safaris into the False Bay section of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park.

Hluhluwe Horse Safaris has been awarded a concession to operate horse safaris into the False Bay section of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park on the KwaZulu Natal coast.

The park consists mainly of rare sand forest, which riders can explore on horse back. Safaris are available daily.

Marike Reurings, Managing Director of Hluhluwe Horse Safaris: “A selection of horse trails is available for experienced riders to complete novices. Our trained guides will take special care in offering our guests a truly unique and private safari ranging from one-and-a-half to three hours. For those who would like to extend their safari into the park, we offer tailor-made safaris lasting up to eight hours.

Together with their accommodation partner, Wildebees ecolodge, Hluhluwe Horse Safaris has developed horse riding camps lasting three to eight days. There are also several volunteering positions available within Hluhluwe Horse Safaris.

“As horses are our passion, we like to pride ourselves on our excellent care of our horses, which are free roaming while not on trails. Our grooms are trained to the highest standards and twice daily stable the horses for feed and grooming. Our horses are trained twice weekly in a combination of natural horsemanship and Western style,” said Reurings.

Hluhluwe Horse Safaris is located at Wildebees ecolodge in Hluhluwe and borders the False Bay Section of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park.
