Great Plains has opened Zamara Private, a new six-suite private safari villa, on the northern edge of Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Located on private land near Mara Plains Camp, Mara Toto Tree Camp and Mara Expedition Camp, the property is designed for exclusive use by families and small groups of up to 12 guests.
The villa comprises two Master Suites and four stand-alone Guest Suites. One of the Master Suites can be combined with a nearby Guest Suite to create a two-bedroom configuration for families.
Each suite has a private outdoor deck, overhead fans and air conditioning. The main villa has a lounge with a fireplace, rooftop terrace and landscaped lawn.
Other facilities include a 15x5m infinity pool, private wellness and gym facilities, sauna and steam rooms, an on-site spa and a wine room.
Zamara Private is fully serviced with a dedicated guide, chef and concierge team. Dining menus focus on local ingredients and can be tailored to guests’ preferences.
Private safaris
Guests have access to private daily game drives in open 4x4 vehicles with itineraries tailored to allow for early-morning, late-afternoon or full-day excursions in the Maasai Mara.
Picnic breakfasts and lunches can also be arranged for game drives.
Hot-air balloon safaris are available at an additional cost, offering guests another way to experience the Maasai Mara and its wildlife.
