New road accident bill not a major barrier to tourism

More than half (58%) of Tourism Update readers believe that the South African Road Accident Fund’s controversial draft bill – which proposes to exclude foreign nationals from claiming compensation from the fund – will not deter self-drive tourists from visiting the country.

Only 25% indicated that it might cause self-drive tourists to rethink whether to visit South Africa, while the remaining 17% were ‘unsure’.
