New road eases access to wildlife sanctuary

The Esitjeni Road (D55) is open to the public.

Big Game Parks has announced that the three-kilometre Esitjeni Road (D55) leading to the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary in eSwatini has been completely tarred and is open to the public.

Big Game Parks, a non-profit trust which manages three game reserves in eSwatini, namely Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, Hlane Royal National Park and the Mkhaya Game Reserve.

The road, which leads from MR103 Mbabane to Manzini road, was previously a gravel road.

Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary covers 4560 hectares and is home to an abundance of wildlife including zebra, blesbok, impala, blue wildebeest and warthog. Mlilwane is not a ‘big five’ reserve, but one of eSwatini's most popular eco-destinations.
