Niche operator extends activity tour range

Tour 2.0 has launched six new offerings to its existing platform.

Local SA tour operator, ‘Tour2.0’, a niche DMC that operates in the urban, cultural and community tourism sector has recently launched six new offerings.

‘Going the Green Mile’ is an urban gardens tour in Johannesburg. The tour starts in the Maboneng precinct to see the courtyard and sculptures.

On the agenda is Siyakhana Farm in Bezuidenhout Park, now the Wits Siyakhana Initiative, where resident herbalist, Bab’ Sihle gives guests a taste of his home-brewed tea. Following this is a Q&A session with Sihle about health benefits of herbs and remedying common ailments. Guests are then taken back to Maboneng to visit the Living Room.

 ‘The Northern Cape Premier Experience’ is a seven-day tour, tailored to travellers who like a little luxury while experiencing the Kalahari. Activities include game drives, visits to the Living Museum and sundowners on the dunes.

Accommodation includes Rooipan Guest Farm, Kgalagadi Lodge, Xaus Lodge, and Rooiduin Guest Farm.


‘Glamping in the Northern Cape’ is based around the Kalahari Red Dune route over five days, offering visitors an opportunity to get close to nature without having to pitch a tent.

Activities include a visit to the Living Museum, dune boarding and a guided walk on Erin Game Farm.

‘A 4x4 Enthusiast’s Dream Adventure’, a Kalahari-based tour, offering numerous 4x4 tracks through farms that adjoin the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. The seven-day experience can be tailored to beginners or experienced drivers who want to push their vehicles to the limit.

‘Culture and Cuisine in the Northern Cape’ provides visitors with an opportunity to also experience the traditional cuisine of the area, local culture and experience the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, over six days.

Accommodation includes the Kalahari Guest House, Molopo Lodge, Rooiduine Guest Farm, Dreghorn Game Farm where guests will stay in a luxury tented camp, Rea Guest House and Bush Camp and finally Lock Maree Guest Farm.

‘Backpacking the Red Dunes of the Northern Cape’, offers backpackers a five-day opportunity to experience what the Kalahari Red Dune route has to offer.

Activities include bird watching, sand boarding, a night drive, and a morning walk in the renowned Kalahari Trails Nature Reserve. Lock Maree Guest Farm provides a game drive that includes a visit to the salt pan on the farm.
