New CEO for Uganda Tourism Board
The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has appointed Juliana Kagwa as its new CEO.
She steps into the role after nearly 20 years in marketing, brand strategy and brand management. Kagwa succeeds UTB’s former CEO Lilly Ajarova who stepped down earlier this year and has been appointed Uganda’s Senior Presidential Advisor on Tourism.
New Sales Director at Silvan Safari
Matthew Brink has been appointed Sales Director of Silvan Safari in Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve and its sister property Camissa House, a luxury boutique hotel in Oranjezicht, Cape Town.
Growing up at Chitwa Chitwa in Sabi Sand, Brink developed a deep love for the bush, wildlife and conservation. Brink studied human resources at Stellenbosch University before returning to the family business as Sales and Marketing Manager for Chitwa Chitwa – a position he will retain in addition to his new roles.
New GM at Windhoek Country Club Resort
Windhoek Country Club Resort has announced the appointment of Rudie Putter as the new GM, effective June 1 this year.
Putter began his career in the hospitality sector at Sun International’s Kalahari Sands Hotel and Casino in 1994 before taking on key leadership positions across Southern Africa, culminating in his most recent role as GM of Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino.
The appointment comes as the previous GM, Tony Boucher, retires after 20 years of service.
