Blaauwberg Beach Hotel appoints new GM

Philippe Marechal has been appointed as the new GM of Blaauwberg Beach Hotel. Marechal, who played a pivotal role in the hotel’s launch and early operations in 2018, has over 25 years of hospitality industry experience.

“While I thrive on the fast pace and challenge of opening hotels, it feels incredibly rewarding to now be able to focus on some long-term goals for Blaauwberg Beach Hotel,” said Marechal. “There is enormous potential here and I look forward to taking the property into its next exciting chapter.”

“We’re delighted to have Philippe back at the helm,” said a representative of the hotel’s ownership group. “He understands the DNA of the hotel and, more importantly, our guests. His blend of vision, experience and drive is exactly what we need as we look toward the future.”

Eswatini Tourism Authority names board of directors

The Eswatini Minister for Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Jane Mkhonta-Simelane, announced the Board of Directors for the Eswatini Tourism Authority at a media briefing in Lobamba on June 12.

The newly appointed board consists of Penelope Mkhwanazi (Chairperson), Vusie Dlamini (Board Secretary), Njabuliso Dlamini-Gwebu, Christine Ndlovu, Ann Reilly, Samkelisiwe Dlamini, Thembayena Dlamini, Nkululeko Dlamini and Phinda Manyatsi.

The board was selected for expertise, integrity and commitment to public service as well as responsibility for guiding the Eswatini Tourism Authority during challenges and opportunities while working closely with management, government and the private sector.
