Kathy Brüggemann has been appointed Associate Event Director for We Are Africa and We Are Africa, North America. Brüggemann served as Head of Sales and Partnerships at We Are Africa for the past three years.
AAVEA appoints Interim Chair
The African Association of Visitor Experiences and Attractions (AAVEA) has appointed Sabine Lehmann as Interim Chair.
Lehmann founded Attractions Africa in 2014 and established AAVEA as a formal association in 2018, serving as its first Chair until 2023. Her industry experience includes leadership roles as CEO of Table Mountain Cableway and COO of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa.
Through her consultancy Curiositas, she works in tourism and leisure strategy and futures thinking. In 2025, she received the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Inspiration Award for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
