Tourvest has appointed Judi Nwokedi as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Member of the Board with effect from February 1.
Nwokedi served as MD at the South African Broadcasting Corporation between 2001 and 2005, during which time she led a media portfolio comprising 15 radio and two television stations. She has also worked in leadership positions at Motorola Sub-Saharan Africa and AREVA in SA. Nwokedi sits on the boards of the South African Nuclear New Business Consortium and the Consolidated Infrastructure Group and she chairs the AIDS Consortium and the International Women’s Forum South Africa’s Global Business Connect sub-committee.
“Judi is a highly respected leader with global business networks and values strongly aligned to those of Tourvest. We believe she can unlock considerable value for the company as it starts its next growth phase,” said Tourvest Chairman, Robert Gumede.
Group Chief Executive, Tommy Edmond, said Nwokedi was an inspirational leader and that her appointment would have a transformational impact in the company’s operations. “She will drive our expansion into Africa and the BRICS countries and, among other things, lead our stakeholder engagements.”
Jeremy Flowerday has been appointed GM at Cape Milner Hotel, taking over the position from Murray Nell.
Flowerday has over 15 years of senior management experience, having worked in managerial roles at Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa, the Three Cities Group, Gold Reef City Casino Hotel, the Holiday Inn and Cape Sun InterContinental. He has a Diploma in Hospitality Management as well as Food and Beverage Management. He is also a Certified Hotel Administrator.
Steenberg Estate in the Western Cape has appointed Nicolene Kotze as Sales and Marketing Manager.
Kotze has over 12 years’ experience in sectors ranging from restaurant management to corporate sales directorship. She has held positions including Restaurant Manager at The Greenhouse Restaurant and National Key Accounts Manager for Hertz Rent a Car.
“With a varied scope of experience in the dining and hospitality fields, Nicolene’s versatility, charisma and keen eye for marketing and sales make her a capable and welcome addition to the team at Steenberg,” said GM, John Loubser.
