We recently asked readers if they thought a direct US-Cape Town flight would further boost US tourism numbers to South Africa.
The question was asked in the wake of Delta Air Lines announcing a return to South Africa. The airline has begun offering direct flights from the US to Johannesburg, but not to Cape Town.
An overwhelming 80% of the 421 respondents to the poll answered ‘yes’, a direct route to the Mother City would increase the number of US tourists to South Africa. Only 10% voted ‘no’, while the remaining 10% voted ‘maybe’.
