The new Polokwane International Airport was opened at a special event on Tuesday, October 21.
The airport is owned and managed by the province of Limpopo. Authorities are hopeful that the new facility will attract more foreign tourists and contribute to growing the province’s economy during and beyond the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
It is expected that the Polokwane airport will service about 200 000 passengers per year.
