Protea Hotel Upington will begin the second phase of its refurbishment on July 8.
As this phase entails extensive remodelling of the River Rooms, which are separate to the main hotel, these will be closed for eight weeks. The refurbishment includes new bathrooms, bedroom softs, and bedroom furniture. The refurbished rooms will also have Juliet balconies overlooking the Orange River and passages will be upgraded.
The hotel has completed the first phase of its renovation, which included the addition of 29 rooms, a restaurant, gym and conference centre.
Protea Hospitality Group Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue, Danny Bryer, said the hotel’s refurbishment was one of more than two dozen the group had carried out in the past 18 months.
