Qantas expands codeshare with Airlink to regional destinations

Qantas has expanded its codeshare agreement with Airlink, giving travellers easier access to a wider range of destinations across Southern Africa. Until now, the partnership only covered South African domestic routes. The new agreement extends Qantas’s reach into several key regional markets.

According to an Airlink spokesperson, the enhanced codeshare has been approved by authorities in Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Under the new arrangement, Qantas passengers can book through-connections on the following Airlink-operated routes from Johannesburg:

  • South Africa: Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, East London, George Hoedspruit, Kruger Mpumalanga, Gqeberha and Skukuza
  • Botswana: Gaborone and Maun
  • Namibia: Windhoek and Walvis Bay
  • Zambia: Livingstone and Lusaka
  • Zimbabwe: Bulawayo, Harare and Victoria Falls

The Airlink spokesperson confirmed that the codeshare is unilateral, meaning Qantas can apply its code on Airlink flights but Airlink cannot do the same on Qantas services within Australia.
