New Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEEE) codes for the tourism sector were gazetted in November and are now in effect.

The codes are more stringent than the generic codes and members of the tourism sector have warned that the new codes come at an additional cost burden to tourism businesses and could limit industry growth.
