Rani, Minor Hotel Group partnership eyes Africa

Rani Investment, the owner of Rani Resorts, has entered into a partnership with Minor Hotel Group, a hotel owner, operator and investor.

In terms of the partnership, the two companies have formed a joint venture company for ownership of Indigo Bay Resort & Spa in Mozambique. Indigo Bay will be rebranded Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort & Spa later this year and managed by Minor Hotel Group.

The partnership has also announced plans for further expansion in Africa. “We are excited to be partnering with Rani Investment and are looking forward to working closely with them to grow our portfolio in Africa, specifically in Mozambique to begin with,” said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO Minor Hotel Group. “We are already present in Tanzania and Kenya through our partnership with Elewana Collection and we are keen to expand further into other parts of this vast continent where there is so much untapped opportunity.”

“This partnership promises a positive future for both Indigo Bay and Anantara, as well as for Mozambique as a tourism destination,” said Luis Pinheiro, CEO of Rani Resorts.
