The lodge, situated within an oasis of Jackelberry trees and giant Fig trees, rests on the bank of the Blyde River in South Africa’s Mpumalanga province.
Guests are often treated to the splashing performance of a pod of wild hippos in the water, or the haunting call of the African Fish Eagle as it flies overhead. Nyalas (antelope) roam freely on the pristine green lawns, living in harmony with a family of Peacocks and Horses.
A blend of contemporary and African décor compliments the beauty of the lodge’s surroundings with stylish rooms looking out on to the Blyde River. Room facilities include tea trays and mini bar.
Accommodation comprises of four luxury double/twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms; two standard double/twin rondavels (WAXBILL & HORNBILL) with en-suite bathrooms; one comfortable PEACOCK cottage with en-suite bathroom and sitting area; one large self-catering KIMBA PRIVATE HOUSE with en-suite and private pool which can sleep four; one large self-catering OWL House with en-suite which can sleep six (four adults and two children); and one self-catering KINGFISHER cottage which sleeps two and possibly one child
Scrumptious breakfasts are included and candlelight dinners by arrangement. Alternatively, guests can enjoy sundowners at the pool or a picnics on the lawn.
