SA Express ‘fully operational’

It's business as usual at SA Express, according to the airline’s CEO, Inathi Ntshanga.

In a statement, the airline said it has resumed flights and is operating its normal schedule following the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) decision to reinstate SA Express’ Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) on Sunday (May 1). This came after a 42-hour suspension, related to the airline’s quality assurance systems.

“Following the suspension notice on Friday evening, and subsequent meetings between SA Express’ executive management team and SACAA, clarity was provided in terms of the audit related concerns and procedural issues that the airline needed to adhere to, which has now been accepted and agreed to,” Ntshanga explained in a statement.

“We understand that because of procedural issues and due to incorrect paperwork, we have inadvertently let our passengers down, however we assure the public that this matter has been substantially addressed and will never occur again,” he added.
