From mid-December, Shamwari will introduce a new air travel service, offering direct flights on a demand basis to and from Shamwari Game Reserve and South Africa’s major international airports: Cape Town International and OR Tambo International in Johannesburg.
Shamwari Air Shuttle, operated by National Airways Corporation, will provide guests with private airport lounge access and help them avoid lengthy check-ins, delays and connections. According to Shamwari, this will save guests between four and five hours of travel time compared to existing commercial airline options.
Flights will be operated on Beechcraft 1900D aircraft with seating for up to 16 guests with 28kg of luggage per person (inclusive of hand luggage, preferably soft-sided bags).
The flight from Cape Town is approximately one hour and 50 minutes. From Johannesburg, the flight takes two hours and 15 minutes.
