Sun International and Domba Empowerment Corporation unveiled R75 million (€4.8m) investment plans for Sun Meropa, a three-star casino, in Polokwane, Limpopo.

The investment includes the development of a new hotel at the complex with work scheduled for completion in August 2017.

The hotel will reflect Moroccan architecture and will have 60 Moroccan-themed rooms; 54 will be standard rooms, four junior suites and two superior suites. The hotel will cater for business and leisure travellers.

“By extending Sun Meropa with a hotel, we believe we can increase our contribution to economic growth and tourism in the area,” says Thabo Mosololi, Director of Operations at Sun International.

Sun Meropa is an entertainment hub, offering an array of entertainment and experiences. The complex features the Harvest Charcoal Grill, the Jembe Tavern, casino and a conference centre.
