Western Cape hotel gets a makeover

Rooms in the Cape Milner have been given a fresh, new look.

The Cape Milner Hotel in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town, recently underwent a refurbishment.

Ten of the luxury rooms and the bistro area had a makeover, with new additions specifically designed to create a relaxing atmosphere for guests, in a modern setting.

The hotel has also double glazed the first- and second-floor rooms that face Table Mountain, reducing traffic noise from the road below.

The breakfast buffet has been revamped to showcase a modern dining-cum-bistro offering, with inclusions such as induction-powered chafing dishes, new counters, lighting and décor.

General Manager, Natasha Powell, says: “The rooms were basically gutted and completely redecorated – everything is new, from the beds to the curtains to the carpets to the artworks.”

Cape Town-based interior designer, Beth Murray, has led the hotel’s refurbishments for the past ten years, having designed the Glass Lounge and refurbishing all the standard rooms and suites in the hotel.

“The Cape Milner’s style is constantly developing,” says Murray.
