The National Airports Corporation Zambia has introduced a security charge payable at all NACL airports in Zambia, effective from the beginning of this month.
The charge is effective at Lusaka, Livingstone, Ndola and Mfuwe and can be paid at the same time as departure tax.
The new security charge is US$3pp per sector (domestic flights) and for those in transit, the conditions are the same as those that apply to departure tax i.e. passengers in transit only pay the security charge once at the airport of departure.
The new security charge applies to all scheduled and charter passengers departing from any NACL airport.
A US$5 international security charge has also been implemented (Lusaka and Livingstone), and operators are advised to check with international carriers before travel to ensure the amount is included in cost of the ticket.
