AWA and CVA strengthen partnership

Cabo Verde Airlines (CVA) and Africa World Airlines (AWA) entered into a partnership at the beginning of the month to improve connectivity between West Africa and Europe, North and South America.

The airlines will start an integrated selling operation for the routes of both carriers. AWA passengers will able to connect through CVA’s hub on Sal Island to other routes of the airlines such as Dakar, Santiago, São Filipe, and São Vicente.

AWA operates to five cities in Ghana and also has flights to Lagos which will be the point of connection with Cabo Verde Airlines flights to? Abuja,Nigeria; Monrovia, Liberia; Freetown, Sierra Leone; and Abidjan, in the Ivory Coast.

CEO and President of CVA, Jens Bjarnason, said he was pleased with the partnership and believed it would help increase connectivity. “It is very important for CVA to create strategic partnerships to widen CVA’s range in West Africa, a growing market that is very important to us.”
