Carlson Rezidor will open the Radisson Blu Le Vendôme Hotel Cape Town in Sea Point within the next six months, the group announced this week.
The hotel, formerly known as Hotel Le Vendôme, is currently undergoing renovation and refurbishment.
The 143-room property will bring the group’s portfolio in Cape Town to five hotels in operation and under development.
Wolfgang Neumann, President and CEO of Rezidor, said the group planned to grow its portfolio in Africa. “The emerging market of Africa is one of our most important regions for future business development.”
“South Africa is one of the few markets in Africa where we see real opportunity to convert existing hotels that are either independent or operated by competitor brands to either a Radisson Blu or Park Inn by Radisson,” said Andrew McLachlan, Carlson Rezidor VP Business Development for Africa and Indian Ocean Islands.
