Comment of the week: Eswatini policies

This week’s comment comes from, Julien Paul Gregory Janssen, about the article regarding growing numbers in tourism in Eswatini.

Janssen’s comment highlights that focusing on positive tourism figures is not a priority when there is more work to be done in terms of Eswatini’s policies.  This is in line with Tourism Update’s #LetsGrowTourism campaign, and being accountable for our shortcomings, while growing and celebrating our successes.

Janssen said the following:

"Esteemed CEO, Linda Nxumalo, may I urge you to prioritise correctly! Get your antiquated and draconian visa policies on a par with South Africa (as mentioned in this article) and all of your other warm and fuzzy initiatives will bear fruit overnight.

I and many of my Industry colleagues are HUGE Eswatini fans and we include it in most of our itineraries but sadly potential growth markets for us have gone stale due to this one single easy-fix issue.

Get this right with a sense of urgency and see how quickly operators will go back to Eswatini! Walk the Talk! Many thanks."
