KWS relocates rhinos back to Lewa

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) Vet and Capture Unit has relocated two rhinos from Ole Nashu Ranch back to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.

The relocation followed an escape by the two rhinos through a broken section of the fence at Ole Nashu Ranch. This has raised concerns that could jeopardise the rhinos’ safety and KWS’ ongoing conservation goals.

Alongside the relocation, the broken fence has been repaired, highlighting the importance of infrastructure maintenance in rhino conservation.
