Amakhosi Safari Lodge in KwaZulu Natal has reopened after a two-month closure while the rooms and main lodge were refurbished and the deck extended.
The lodge has six luxurious river suites and two honeymoon suites that feature high ceilings, glass walls and private viewing decks. There is also an entirely new road network.
The spectacular area of Goedvertou, which until recently could not be utilised due to lack of water, is flourishing after an underground water reservoir was found and is now being used to pump water into various dams.
The lodge has also announced thatNdlovu Gazi, its small self-catering camp, is now open for bookings and will be open in mid-October.
Amakhosi has also recently launched IsiGodlo (meaning chief’s residence), a private villa that can accommodate up to four guests.
Amakhosi announced at Indaba that it would hold its rack rates for 2013, which means three years of no increase.
