Natural Selection to open sixth Namibia property

Other facilities include a bar, library, several seating and dining areas, and swimming pool.

Natural Selection will open the Kwessi Dune Lodge, in the NamibRand Nature Reserve, Namibia, on March 1, 2020, its sixth property in the country.

The 10 thatch and canvas rooms will measure 88sqm and have an en suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers, a shaded veranda and air-conditioning.

The NamibRand Nature Reserve was selected by the International Dark Sky Association as an official dark sky reserve, due to its low levels of light pollution and cloudless nights. To take advantage of this, each unit will also have a special ‘star-gazing’ room, as well as the option to sleep outside.

Other facilities include a bar, library, several seating and dining areas, and swimming pool.

Gemsbok, springbok, kudu, and steenbok are found in the reserve, while leopard and spotted hyena are also occasionally seen.

From the lodge, day trips to the nearby Sossusvlei dunes, and the Deadvlei, are available, as are hot air balloon rides.

As with all Natural Selection projects, 1.5% of turnover will go back into conservation projects in the area.
