Club resort operator ROBINSON will open its first property in Zanzibar during its 2026/27 winter season.
The resort is being developed on Muyuni Beach on the island’s east coast and will feature 320 rooms and villas.
MD Bernd Mäser said the development is part of the brand’s growth strategy and responds to increasing demand for premium club resort holidays.
“With their high standards of quality, cuisine and sports facilities, premium club resort holidays are aimed at different target groups and meet a trend. We are seeing a steady increase in demand for our brands and our focus is clearly on growth,” he said.
According to Mäser, Zanzibar offers conditions suited to the brand’s activity-led club resort concept.
“Paradisiacal beaches and crystal clear water offer ideal conditions for water sports such as diving, snorkelling, sailing and kitesurfing,” he said. “The island is also characterised by a rich culture and exciting history. This unique blend of relaxation and adventure makes Zanzibar the perfect location for a ROBINSON club resort.”
The development will incorporate sustainability measures including solar photovoltaic systems and a water treatment plant.
