Samara appoints Head of US Sales
Brooke Berlin, the founder of Karoo Consulting, is joining the Samara Team as Head of US Sales.
Karoo Consulting is a business development and marketing representation company focused on promoting low-footprint, high-impact luxury travel to Africa and supporting conservation and community non-profits.
With eight years as Vice President of Marketing at a travel company and more than 20 years of exploring the African continent, Berlin brings a wealth of experience to promoting and sharing Samara's conservation-driven hospitality offering.
Ongava announces Chairperson
Namibian business leader Amos Shiyuka has been appointed Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Ongava Game Reserve.
He brings extensive experience spanning conservation, finance, telecommunications, technology, security, manufacturing and corporate governance. He currently serves as Chairperson of Save the Rhino Trust Namibia – a conservation organisation dedicated to protecting Namibia’s free-roaming, desert-adapted black rhino population.
Seychelles Tourism Board appoints Deputy CEO
Maria Azemia has been appointed Deputy CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board. She will work alongside current CEO Vesna Rakić.
Azemia brings 10 years of experience in the tourism industry to the role. She previously served as Executive Director in the Office of the Principal Minister within the Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and the Blue Economy.
Marriott appoints VP of Sales and Marketing in Mauritius
Patrick Lan has been appointed as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Marriott in Mauritius. He brings more than 20 years of international experience in the tourism and hospitality industry. Before joining Marriott in Mauritius, he spent 10 years with the Radisson Hotel Group.
Lan will oversee sales and marketing strategy for Marriott’s properties in Mauritius including The St Regis Le Morne Resort, The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa and Le Méridien Ile Maurice.
