Jerome Briet has been appointed Chief Development Officer, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), at Marriott International. His division encompasses over 75 countries and territories. He takes over from Carlton Ervin, who has been appointed Global Development Officer for Marriott’s International portfolio. Briet will be responsible for driving Marriott’s growth trajectory and market position across EMEA, while supporting the company’s global-wide development vision. He will be identifying new opportunities for the business, owners and franchisees, and be responsible for shaping the strategic growth plan and leadership of the EMEA development team.

Briet was previously Chief Development Officer, Middle East and Africa.

Carsten von Lüttwitz has joined Ondili Lodges as Chief Operating Officer. He will be based at head office in Windhoek and will be Ondili’s primary contact person in Namibia for all marketing and sales-related issues for industry partners. Von Lüttwitz has more than 20 years’ experience in most sectors of the tourism industry. Over the past eight years he worked for a Namibian tour operator in marketing, sales and product development.

Jan Rohlfs has also joined Ondili Lodges as Marketing and Business Development Executive. Previously involved with the planning, building and opening of Ondili’s current flagship property, Etosha Oberland Lodge, Rohlfs will now support the team in Windhoek, focusing on working closely with local tour operators and maintaining and improving relationships. He will also guide development on new projects. Rohlfs has a strong tourism background and aims to help Ondili Lodges grow within the tourism industry.
