Belmond announces new appointments
Belmond has announced two new appointments aligned with the growth of its global lodge portfolio.
Steve Mitchell has been appointed MD: Global Lodges and will lead the development of Belmond’s current and future lodges worldwide.
Alongside this, Daniel Zents has been promoted to GM of Eagle Island Lodge and Savute Elephant Lodge, reporting to Mitchell. Zents joined Belmond in September 2024.
&Beyond evolves leadership structure
&Beyond has announced an updated leadership structure, effective March 1, to support global growth across Africa, Asia and South America.
Mark Wheeler has been appointed President of &Beyond Group, overseeing day-to-day global operations. Joss Kent, Executive Chairman and CEO, will focus on long-term strategy, impact, business development and stakeholder engagement.
Key appointments include:
- Niall Anderson (Chief Operating Officer Lodges, Camps & Yachts)
- Kevin Pretorius (MD of South America Lodges, Camps and Yachts & Growth)
- Riaan Venter (Group Guest Experience Director)
- Brendan Streak (MD of South Africa Lodges)
- Jason King (MD of Southern Africa Lodges & Asia Growth)
All appointments have been made from within the organisation.
Beck Family Estates appoints new CEO
Beck Family Estates has appointed Helen Kock as CEO.
Kock brings more than two decades of experience in the South African wine industry and previously served as Brand Portfolio Director at Vinimark. She has also held senior roles within Beck Family Estates.
Beck Family Estates Chairman Antony Beck said: “Helen embodies the values we hold dear: passion, excellence and long-term vision. Her leadership will honour our heritage while positioning Beck Family Estates for a future defined by innovation, collaboration and renewed global relevance.”
Speaking about her appointment, Kock said: “I see this role as an opportunity to build on the work of those who have strengthened South African wine at every level of the value chain. Our industry has extraordinary talent and potential.”
As CEO, Kock will oversee the company’s South African and international portfolio, including Graham Beck and Steenberg Vineyards.
