Exhibition and event organiser, Synergy Business Events, has appointed new Director, Phetogo Kubheka.
Kubheka joined Synergy in 2017 as a Sales Manager and will now join Director, Martina Komane, and MD, Tiisetso Tau, on the company’s executive team.
During her time at Synergy, Kubheka has worked on SA Tourism’s trade exhibitions. In 2018, she sold out Meetings Africa and Africa’s Travel Indaba in record time. She was acknowledged as one of the Top 40 Women in MICE in the same year.
“I’d like to give my thanks to Justin Hawes for stepping down as Director and giving Kubheka this opportunity,” said Tau. “Succession planning was always our intention from the very beginning, with a long-term view to transformation through mentorship and creating opportunities for the next generation.”
He added that his plan for Kubheka was to grow her into the position of MD over the next three to five years.
Perivoli Lagoon House appoints new GM couple
Marcelino and Simoné Henckert have been appointed GM couple of Perivoli Lagoon House on the Klein River Lagoon in the Western Cape.
Simoné previously worked at various lodges for brands such as Singita, &Beyond and Ulusaba, and Marcelino has worked as a professional safari guide at several private game reserves and lodges.
The couple met at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge in Namibia in 2004 and share a love for Africa.
