WITH more than 70 events already confirmed, planning is in full swing for this year’s Pick ‘n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival, to be held from July 3-12.
New events on this year’s programme include the Geo Oyster Geocaching competition and an outdoor treasure hunt. The organisers have also increased the number of race entries for the Pick n Pay Cape Times Knysna Forest Marathon and Half Marathon.
Other events include Nights of 1000 Pictures, which will give visitors an opportunity to buy local art; the Navigation Drift Dive Challenge, and an Admiral’s Ball to be held in honour of the SA Navy.
Sporting activities comprise the Salomon Featherbed Trail Run which this year will include a Breakfast Run and a Supper Run, a two-day golf festival and the Duesouth XTERRA.
Other highlights are the Lifestyle events, which will include the Wade Bales Wine Festival, the Pick ‘n Pay Oyster & Wine Mardi Gras presented by Tabasco, the Knysna Oyster Company Oyster Shucking competition and the Longbarn Oyster Eating Competition.
