Poll results: Readers support mandatory vax

South Africa is awaiting President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision on vaccine mandates in response to the Omicron variant. The virus has severely impacted travel and tourism in southern Africa and we asked readers how they felt about mandatory vaccination.

From a high turnout of 434 votes, 70% of respondents gave an overwhelming thumbs-up to mandatory vaccinations throughout South Africa; 26% of voters said ‘no’, and only 4% were ‘unsure’.
